West Ham United is pleased to confirm that Marko Arnautovic has signed a contract extension.
The Austrian has reiterated his 100 per cent commitment to the Hammers after opting to put an end to speculation linking him with a move to China by extending his deal with the club.
The Hammers forward says he cannot wait to score more goals in the Claret & Blue and help lift the Club further up the Premier League table over the rest of the 2018/19 season.
He said: “I’m happy for this and I want to say to the fans that I’m happy to stay, I glad to play again, show myself and score goals, to make assists, but also to say that the major point is Marko Arnautovic never refused [to play or train]. I would never refuse.
“I’m happy, I’m happy to come to this point. I’m happy that this club is improving. Step by step, every week, every month we are seeing some improvement and that’s good.”
Arnautovic is now determined to help the Hammers finish as high as possible in the Premier League.
He added: “Our target, of course, is to climb as high as possible in the league table. We need to start again taking some points. We know it won’t be easy against Wolverhampton away and Liverpool at home. It’s never easy in this league but I’m sure we have enough quality to win games and to climb as high as possible in the table and then we’ll see.
“The fans gave me the power, they gave me the energy and that’s why I have to be here and that’s why I want to stay. I never wanted to run away because I hate this club, this was never my intention.
“I love this club and I will always love this club no matter what. You have decisions you have to make in life, but I say from now it doesn’t matter what happens I will always love West Ham and it will always be a big part in my life. I love this happiness, so listen, I’m here, I’m ready. I hope the fans are also ready and we go again.”

Most likely paying him just enough to keep whoever he owes money to off his back.

I'd be happy to see Maxi come in but people have to remember that it might take him the rest of the season to settle in.

Surely best to get Gomez in now then so he can be fully ready to go next season.. There's no pressure on us for the rest of the season in any case.

Fuck him, let’s rinse him for all his worth until the end of the season, get rid and replace in the summer.

My only hope is we haven’t missed the boat on the biggest offer we’ll get for him.

Grass is greener and all that sh*t.

It didn't work out for him and he has a job to do. If he puts in a shift for us then his value can go up and he can f*ck off at a better profit for us.

We should buy another quality striker regardless , give him competition so he doesn't feel so superior.

You're dead right Pagey - normal is when players profess to be loyal to their team, and all along are hoping for even more money they don't deserve to be thrust upon them. Normal is for besotted fans to believe that players are genuinely loyal to their club.

One goal from Arnie followed by a fist pump on the chest and crossed Hammers and all will be back to normal.

'Fans will understand if it comes out of the summer budget.'

In the grand scheme of things, they absolutely won't. They'll understand now when we are splashing the cash, but they'll have forgotten/ will discount the spending in the summer.

Its a shame Pellegrini wasnt in charge when Payet was here. The guy is calm and seems to command respect from owners, players and fans. I like how the club have managed this with no trash talk or media explosion from thw club. Its been handled internally, Arnie is a very good and important player and I think he'll knuckle down and be integrated back into the team. People make mistakes, if Arnie comes back with performances then all will be forgiven.

You’re absolutely spot on.

Pellegrini, with commendable backing from the dildos, it has to be said, have handled this very well.

If the manager wants Arnautovic in the squad, then I won’t give the player any grief; it will just be hard to warm to him with any of the affection Noble and Rice get, or Ginge or even Carlton and Dailly got. He blew it, because he was fast becoming one of my favourites.

Again, though: if the gaffer wants him, then I will fully back him.

Re: Marko £35M bid
This whole episode has been a real test of how good a manager Pellegrini actually is. For me, he has played a blinder and proved that he, not Arnautovic is our most important team member. A useful lesson too for the rest of the squad - it's not just players contracts that are disposable, so too are the players themselves. It works both ways.

Re: Marko £35M bid
Most articles state Gomez will be coming in the summer there are a few reason and I think it will give time to blend into the team in training nothing confirmed yet..

A minimum of 50% on this forum will not give time at all if he comes in this window Darby he will be shit after the first half of the first game

Re: Marko £35M bid
On Pellers dropping him, it's like I said about the manager retaining the initiative by dropping the player before the player can go on strike.

If Pelle isn't convinced that Arnie's heart is in it, it's crazy playing him when we have expensive strikers like Chicha chomping at the bit. It's not fair on them to have Arnie start and then wander around the field lazily.

Hopefully Pelle will have played this perfectly and Arnie will get over his disappointment and get back to his best.
